The quilts Blue Glitz and Lapis Geometry are a study in contrast even though they use exactly the same fabrics.

The trick to achieving such varied looks was reversing the proportions of silks to cottons in the two compositions. Blue Glitz uses LOTS of light blue silk, with geometric pops of royal blue silk and skinny lines of cotton for contrast. And I’ve switched to the rectangle as the dominant geometric form.

The minimalist stitchery uses thick, silvery thread so that the quilting reads at a distance.
