52.5″ wide x 68″ high
This quilt got its start when I put Michele D’Amore’s Daily Zen Plaid Fuschia print on the wall and started pinning fabric scraps here, there and everywhere.
The solids, mostly Cherrywood cottons and a few batiks, are such eye-popping colors that they seem to vibrate just above the surface of the quilt, turning the busy print into a calming background.
Designed and pieced improvisationally, the quilt was constructed in three parts that were joined after each section was quilted with the walking foot.
Because I love their texture, hundreds of hand-sewn French knots secure the print rectangles that interrupt and abut areas of solid colors.
